Student potters find inspiration from social media

Many student potters find inspiration in the online pottery presence. In recent years, Instagram and Youtube accounts dedicated to pottery have gained popularity.  

“Most of my ideas come from Instagram, and I get a lot of inspiration for new technique and different styles of pottery from Instagram,” freshman Anne-Charlotte Gillard said.

Some students have even started their own pottery social media accounts, including Gillard. Her Instagram account, tagged “pots_on_pots_on_pots,” showcases her pots. She says that she wanted to make an Instagram pottery account so that she would have a place to post pictures of her work and document her growth over time.
